Whip Stitch Seaming
There are a lot of different stitches to choose from when you applique felt — buttonhole stitch and running stitch are especially popular. But my very favorite stitch to use is whip stitch. Easy peasy! You can find my felt here , the matching thread here , and a handy printable list of all my felt colors with their coordinating DMC numbers here.
I should note that applique with whip stitch is a little bit different than whip stitching the edges of felt pieces together.
I have a separate video showing how to do that here. And the wool felt and smooth embroidery thread feel so nice in my hands! Plus the colors are so rich and pretty!
Give it a try with this fancy felt coffee sleeve. It uses whip stitch to applique all the felt pieces, and blanket stitch to sew the edges of the sleeve. Get the free pattern here. Play with some felt! Try the Oddballs — a fun pattern for silly monsters. Is there a technique similar to this that I can use on any fabric without the machine? Just thread your thread tail through a few of the stitches on the back — like with the embroidery in this video.

Crochet Headband Pattern Faux Purl
Previously I demonstrated the Mattress Stitch , which is a great way to create an invisible seam when sewing two pieces of crochet or knitting together. Another option for seaming your yarn items is the Whip Stitch. You can use the Whip Stitch to sew together both crochet and knit pieces — or even sew crochet and knit together! When possible you want to match the stitches one-for-one, as shown in this tutorial. You can Whip Stitch over any number of stitches, and the only tool you need is a yarn or tapestry needle with an eye large enough for your yarn. Hold the pieces to be seamed together, either WS together or RS together, depending on what the pattern calls for.
How to join crochet pieces together
Finish off with a fake sc see YouTube tutorial and cut yarn, weave in tail. Now take the black piece you previously crocheted and whip stitch the back loops of round 7 to the back loops of round 32 of the main yellow piece. Finish off with a fake sc see YouTube tutorial and cut yarn, leaving a very long tail for sewing. Whip stitch round 7 to the available yellow front loops from round 32 of the main yellow piece, stuffing the lips as you go. Then, whip stitch round 6 to the available yellow front loops from round 31 of the main yellow piece. Finish off with a fake sc see YouTube tutorial and cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew to top of the head — add a light amount of stuffing if desired.. Close up hole, cut yarn and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew only the bottom half of the leaves. Cut eyes out of white and black felt and glue to head in between the leaves.

The little bunny with the dress on is so very cute. Thank you for the pattern. Can you share the dress pattern?? Carmen, all the outfit links are at the top of this page. Just under the very first photo.
TUTORIAL: Sewing an open piece to a closed piece
Today, let me demonstrate that for you. For demonstration reasons, I used a really bright colour when joining the blue squares together to show you where to place your stitch work. For most of you, you will use the same colour of yarn of the exterior border of the square and it will blend really well. I have several HDC squares that need joined for a graphgan. They are different sizes but I would like to join them so that it appears as seamless as possible. Which method would you recommend?

Please enable JavaScript on your browser to best view this site. This is my favorite seam for joining blanket pieces and motifs. I know the join-as-you-go crocheted seams are really popular, and they are much faster to do. The unused loops line up so neatly on either side of the seam, leaving a recessed criss-cross design in the middle. When used with motifs, it also helps to set off each motif separately rather than blending them together. Ok, I know that is confusing…but these pictures will clear it up! Click on any picture for a larger image. Each stitch has a front loop and a back loop, where the front loop faces the right side of the fabric, and the back loop faces the wrong side.

But are you doing it correctly? I think the confusion may lie in the name yarn over. If you are crocheting — and this applies to all standard and Tunisian crochet stitches — passing the yarn over the hook is always the correct way to do a YO. When I first tried knooking, I used a standard YO for all my stitches and they ended up twisted.
I actually whipped up this blanket way before I released the linen stitch baby blanket with the bobble border, which you can find here. I waited so long to post it because it felt so incredibly simple. And not just to a new place in my town of Austin, TX. So, needless to say, things are a little crazy around here!
A cute and cuddly crochet project. This crochet bunny pattern is a great first amigurumi project and is the one I recommend most! Before you begin, review this page entirely so you understand the full scope of the project. Insert your hook into the next designated stitch, YO and pull up a loop. YO and pull through all three loops. In fact most of the pattern is identical! If you find yourself struggling to read and make sense of the pattern, I recommend watching that tutorial for guidance.
Attention beginner crocheters! Before you even pick up a hook, this is some stuff you need to know about crocheting. To be honest, teaching people to crochet is such a joy but it can also be very stressful. I think the biggest thing for me was not weaving my ends in properly.
Something like that does not appear
I apologize, but this does not suit me. Are there other variations?
This has stumbled upon it! This has come to you!
