Restore password. Demons 2 4K A girl named Sally is having a party tonight - friends, music, drinks. But in the midst of the fun, someone turns on the TV, which is broadcasting about demons.

Then the incredible happens - the demon from the movie enters Sally's house through the TV screen. On the TV screen, four masters find trouble on their own asses.

Unsuccessful treasure hunters are aware of the eternally hungry demons, but knowledge in their case is not power. A small drop of blood turned out to be a powerful catalyst, launching a monstrous mechanism of hunting all living beings at a new stage. Since the time of the epoch-making "Demons" time, the fanged monsters have ceased to ooze green liquid, but their blood has become very toxic, and, probably, it was she who allowed them to penetrate into the real world.

A certain person named Sally did not have a party, and watching to defuse an interesting horror movie turned into a nightmare in reality, and now a whole skyscraper risks inheriting the fate of an ancient tomb, where lovers of marauding fun will one day visit. Blood boils, claws gnash, fangs click, and throats growl - the famous "tools of evil" are back in action. The tandem of Dario Argento and Lamberto Bava, without much sophistication, again fills the screen with an epidemic of demonism in a new conglomerate.

The tall building should have protected its inhabitants, but in reality it appears as an eerie multi-storey casemate, the underground tier of which precisely communicates with the underworld.

The number of demons is multiplying at an alarming rate, the party participants will soon acquire a greenish skin tone, predatory manners and briskly start scurrying around the floors.

This time, Bava was more generous with attention to the unwitting instigator of the riots. Sally, a lover of gloomy clothes, appears as "patient zero" spreading the infection, and if in the original film people needed to get a wound for treatment, then everything is simpler in the sequel - a drop of blood on the body and the process began.

Dissenting screams shake a gloomy skyscraper left without electricity, and the climax of the action makes you quickly forget about the number 2 in the title of the film, because the screen is more of a midquel than a sequel. Bava did not hesitate to involve several actors from the first part at once, among whom the brutal black ringleader stands out again. Formerly a thug and now a flamboyant bodybuilding coach, he did a good job of making horror spectacular, but he is not alone.

The director no longer found the desire to arrange a butcher shop in his film, and therefore the emphasis is on the many-sidedness of bloodthirsty creatures. From now on, a completely suitable demon can even turn out from a dog.

A tiny, but very toothy little imp immodestly demands a lot of attention to itself, and the ability of monsters to deftly appeal to the pity of frightened fugitives is most shocking. The more demons begin to take part in the bloody feast, the more the director begins to get carried away. Lamberto Bava did not deny himself the pleasure for some reason to arrange rides around the city at night with the participation of regular gopniks, but unlike the first film, there were not enough connections in the plot.

Yes, and a married couple, for some incomprehensible reason, left a young child alone to watch horror films, was introduced for a dubious purpose - by all means select for each character those who will mourn him.

The seething of blood in green veins can lead to amazing results - in the setting of a deadly tag game, the director regularly finds a place for black humor, which is only short, but juicy dialogues of cool, but not very smart bodybuilders. Bava's logic is lame pretty, which is confirmed by the elevator itself, but such nuances paradoxically have a positive effect on the perception of the picture. At a time when special effects were a luxury inaccessible, a lot depended on the director's ability to create the right atmosphere of doom.

Contemptuous of all the little things, Signor Lamberto, in conjunction with Signor Dario, do not get tired of frightening their viewer, for which sometimes it is enough to re-appear the restless Sally demon, who does not need to be given commands to be in the spotlight. In addition, the immensely furious and extremely aggressive creatures amaze with their ability to think well and navigate on the go.

Many residents of the skyscraper were forced to change their appearance to frightening, but it does not seem that Lamberto Bava played enough with his best creations. Within a strictly outlined one and a half hour framework, the Italian managed to re-implement not the most sophisticated scenario. All that was needed was to slightly green the monsters and give them slightly different habits.

The next stage of the union of two venerable horror makers finally set a new standard for depicting otherworldly monsters, in their spectacularity far superior to the ghouls of George Romero. No matter how frivolous the demons sometimes smelled, they skillfully did their job, providing cult status and the second film with their participation. File size: Is Link Dead? Send a Complaint. Demons 2: The Nightmare Returns Reviews

The opening shot — an extreme close-up of a blood stained knife — suggests an Argentoesque giallo. By this stage of the game, the Italian horror film had largely run its natural course and the Italian film industry in general was beginning to stagnate. This decline in standards is reflected in the lousy acting by all involved and the generally shoddy approach to plotting. Several equally uninvolving plot threads compete for the attention, the end result being not the multi-headed narrative that Bava et al were doubtless striving for, but a confused patchwork of half-baked ideas and disjointed set-pieces. Italian horror has long been recognised — and indeed loved — for the occasional idiocy of its plotting and laxness of narrative cohesion. How does a heavily pregnant woman who spends most of the film threatening to give birth manage to abseil down the side of the doomed tower block? What the hell was Sally doing in those TV sets at the end?

Demons 2 4K 1986

These horrific splatter classics produced by Dario Argento Suspiria have never looked or sounded better and are packed with hours of special features, making this the ultimate home video release of these horror favorites. In Demons, a masked man offers tickets to a horror movie sneak preview at the mysterious Metropol cinema. When a patron is scratched by a prop displayed in the theatre lobby, she transforms into a flesh-ripping demon! One by one, the audience members mutate into horrible creatures hell-bent on destroying the world! Can anyone escape this gory orgy of terror? Director Lamberto Bava had a large legacy to live up to as the offspring of Mario Bava Black Sunday , one of the foremost trailblazers of the horror genre that we know and love today. Fortunately for audiences, skills behind the camera apparently run in the family, and it is especially fruitful when it is guided by another horror icon, Dario Argento. The plot is not especially important, and when you think about it for too long it all becomes a bit silly.

During a broadcast about a demonic outbreak, something escapes. The demons are coming, and no one is safe! A sequel to the successful Demons in , the movie was released to mixed reviews but like the first film gained a cult following. The Uninvited Cat has nothing on the Demons 2 dog! The movie is everything you would want from a horror movie from the s…and an Italian horror movie at that.

Demons and Demons 2 directed by Lamberto Bava. This loud, merciless picture tells an exceedingly simple story: A theatre audience watches a horror film about demons infecting the Earth, in fulfillment of a Nostradamus prophecy; a hooker in the audience scratches herself on a demon mask in the lobby, becomes a demon herself, and one by one the contagion spreads to one and all in this crazy film, a mere scratch from a demon is enough to turn its victim into a monster, too.

Halloween Nights: Demons 2 Review

The creatures crash a sweet party. High-strung Sally Coralina Cataldi Tassoni is having a birthday party, but she's in a mood about everything from her dress to the guest list, so she locks herself in her bedroom and watches a horror movie while her guests drink and dance. Soon enough, the horror movie's cast are exploring a graveyard where demons once roamed, and soon enough one of the creatures is reanimated. Then it marches straight toward the screen, and forces its way into Sally's room From Sally's apartment the demons soon spread throughout the building; their acid blood eats through the floors and destroys the wiring, shutting off the lights, the elevators, the telephones and any hope of getting help from the outside world.

Demons 2 (1987)

Demons 2 continues where Demons 1 left off: that is to say, springing to life from a bad movie. Tetanus shots for everyone! The explorers bring the claw back to life by accidentally bleeding on it, perhaps rendered more believable had it been from a hand wound from said barbed wire. This includes a bunch of spandex-clad gym rats and a couple, one of whom is pregnant and doing an odd exercise routine with a clearly visible fanny pack baby bump. Also tune in to see what happens to Daisy the Dog.

The overall UHD package is a Highly Recommended addition to the library and a great collector's item for cult enthusiasts. Dario Argento and Lamberto Bava, son of "Spaghetti Horror" maestro Mario Bava, joined forces to provide gore-hounds everywhere with a perversely twisted spectacle of demonic possession run amok in Demons. With Argento in the producer's chair, Bava is given free rein to splatter the screen with grisly details, a vibrant, colorful palette thanks to cinematographer Gianlorenzo Battaglia and one of the wildest soundtracks. While the disgusting special effects stun and shock audiences to their wits, the fast-paced screeching sounds of the heavy-metal tunes blast through the speakers, creating a tensely energetic and frantic complement to the visuals. Adding a subtle comical atmosphere to the gorefest is Claudio Simonetti's original musical score, particularly the main composition at the beginning, which has to be one of the best and most memorable pieces for a horror movie. The creepy but highly spirited circus-like undertones are bizarrely fun.

This film has little in connection with the previous film but its ten story high-rise location is just as ominous as the movie theatre in the first film. When she watches a cursed video transmission of a group of kids finding a burial site of demons she is herself possessed by a demon and begins wrecking havoc on her friends turning them all into blood thirsty demons. These demons then head out into the building killing everyone they come into contact with. Like the previous film this film has an ensemble cast in which you never know who will be infected next making it a very suspenseful film. Bava and Dario Argento return to familiar territory with this film and although the premises are very similar they have fun with finding new ways to kill people always an added plus to an entertaining horror film. Although not as ground breaking as the previous film this film has much more humor then the previous film and events get even more out of hand then before.

The last name Bava is considered synonymous with the Italian horror genre. When your father is a major success the way Mario Bava was, it makes the pressure feel a bit tighter, and the lasting impression even sweeter for Lamberto Bava. His classic horror giallo Demons has a new release, in a beautiful digitally restored blu-ray, double disc with Demons and Demons II. In the spirit of celebrating this double-disc, I figured I would take the time to review both Demons films, with an appreciation for both, and the outlandish horror movies that Lamberto Bava was able to gift us with.
