If so, how does it work? CKpool has a feature like that which can consolidate hashing power and pass it "upstream" to another mining pool, one with higher hashrate , to reduce variance for smaller mining pools. I guess this may be considered a stratum proxy of some sort?

I want to try to build a mining pool for a specific coin that isn't integrated here yet. I would like to use this project to build it because I love the support and constant commits. I know python but not as good as the ones that build pools. I understand that I would have to learn c for this project but is there anything else I need to know? I have never seen any sort of blueprint on what a pool should have or anything of that nature.
How can I get started with this project assuming I am a total nub of everything? You can still pull it off by inspecting what's already there and adapting from there. I plan to spend about 24 hrs learning c from scratch in the coming days and hopefully have an idea on what is happening in your code. What's the best way to keep Miningcore running on a remote server? If my SSH connection dies it kills Miningcore obviously. CGMiner Setup Guide
Your proxy works perfect with dwarfpool and nanopool that are the best setuped pools at the moment. Do not waste your precious time with Flypool - need to be fixed from pool side and not your software. Thank you Linda, but i have made no changes at all to any files, im using the origanal files just to try to do the setup. I have not edited anything from the github files. Dont know where to change. Simple install file use this put it in install.
It supercedes the old getwork mining protocol. The original getwork mining protocol simply issues block headers for a miner to solve. The miner is kept in the dark as to what is actually in this block, and has no influence over it.
