Most notably, BTC and ETH have given hopes and faith to millions of private investors, becoming the front-page of a whole new economic systems. Alas, those technologies have one major downside: their electrical bills. This is even a double disadvantage: for the miner, the electricity bill hinders profitability, and for the world in a larger scale, the share of electrical power used by those technologies has skyrocketed.

M2 SSDs will take an approximate 6 hours to plot some report going down under 4 hours with very technical optimisations , while regular HDDs will take around a day and a half. Be careful however with SSDs! A typical SSD will allow for the plotting of around plots before showing failure signals. As such, you may need to budget some SSDs if you plan to plot a lot of tickets.

Going below MiB will make the plot fail, so be careful with that. A good thing to know is that plotting is done in four phases, and out of the four only the first allows for multithreading. So you can effectively cascade your plots to get the best of your CPU.
Just start some new plots when the first batch gets to phase two. Your plot is ready? Time to farm! You are then going to need two things: an internet connection and a slow storage with high capacity HDDs. You winning does not mean no one else is winning, as there can be multiple winner per blocks! You just have to move the files from your plotting point to your newfound bay, and syncing your account on both systems. To do so, you only need to sync you account, using your mnemonics, on both machines.
And indeed, having this kinds of odds is just not good for you. Whether you want to be part of a pool or by yourself is up to you.
But you may also not win anything for a whole year if you go solo. Have a look at different pool, and see if they can get you in. But be careful, most pool will come with a tax of some sort. Farming is good and all, but when it comes to profitability, you will need to exchange those XCH with real, ringing coins! Make profits, and most importantly: have fun.
