Truffle has partnered with Microsoft , to integrate its developer tools with Microsoft Azure to bring quality developer experience and DevOps to enterprise blockchains. Truffle is a development environment, testing framework and asset pipeline for the Ethereum blockchain, aiming to make life easier for developers. With Truffle, users can access built-in smart contract compilation, linking, deployment and binary management.

With more than 3 million downloads and a vibrant developer community, Truffle has long been an ecosystem favorite for new and experienced developers seeking the tools to expedite the smart contract and front end app development process. Truffle accelerated the growth of the open source Ethereum ecosystem as one of the first projects in ConsenSys , and has since grown a dedicated following of users.

The extension allows developers to create and compile smart contracts, test them locally using the Ganache testing environment and inside Azure DevOps pipelines for private and public chains.

Preferred integrations with Microsoft will soon enable smart contract developers to streamline their workflow and testing environments with direct GitHub integration, and deploy effortlessly on Azure.

The Truffle integration demonstrates our continued investment in working with the open source community. Check your inbox or spam folder to confirm your subscription. Azure BaaS

Augur, the decentralised prediction market platform which was the first D-app running on Ethereum to make headlines, has released its beta and joined the Microsoft Azure BaaS enterprise cloud offering. Prediction markets harness the wisdom of the crowd, and because they involve a large network of peers to aggregate opinion they fit well with decentralised systems managed by a distribution of nodes. This key innovation has seen Augur described as "Uber for knowledge", "wonderfully wiggy", or even a benevolent version of the Borg out of Star Trek. Augur follows a now well-trodden path of gifted blockchain start-ups added to Microsoft Azure's Blockchain as a Service BaaS cloud; Ethereum itself was the first blockchain technology to join the cloud back in October of last year. Tony Sakich, director of marketing, Augur, told IBTimes that being added to Microsoft Azure would invite a plethora of use cases for enterprise. It really gives enterprises a great way to have an internal version of Augur. They don't need to use the public version of Augur.
