Twitter wants to change that though, and it just sent out a message to NFT holders: Feel free to come show off over here. On Thursday, Twitter launched a new feature that allows users to set the NFTs they own as their profile pictures. Unlike the circular avatars that are featured on standard profiles, NFTs will be displayed as a hexagon. Other Twitter users will be able to click on the profile picture to learn more about the NFT , including its owner, description, collection, and properties. To upload your NFT as your profile picture, you must temporarily connect your Twitter account with your crypto wallet.

FIFA World Cup: Colombia blank insipid Poland to keep hopes alive

The lack of curation on Steam, something Valve is happy to continue , has made it possible for another nasty "game" to slip through the cracks. Update: Following the publication of this report, Valve has now taken Abstractism off the Steam store. The game's developer and publisher have also had their pages removed. Needless to say, the fake TF2 items the game created have also been removed, though it's not clear if Valve has installed safeguards to prevent against the same occurring in the future.

Original story: This itself is not really news, as games with hateful messages and other questionable content have had an easier time launching on Steam as of late. However, while most other developers are content with publishing asset flips and poorly made projects to rile people up, some have taken this lack of oversight into a more sinister direction. Okalo Union, a Steam developer whose only game launched on March 15, has been up to some pretty devious scams.

Its game, Abstractism , is described as a "trivial platformer" and looks no different from a thousand other minimalist platformers. Last week, players discovered that the game triggers a service called steamservice. If you're thinking this service name sounds familiar, it's because it is. The difference is that the official steamservice.

Some hackers and developers with malicious intent have taken to hijacking the service name for their nefarious needs, which is done through a fake steamservice.

In Abstractism's case, this has been found to load the CPU and GPU in a way that suggests there's a cryptocurrency mining operation running in the background.

The developer's response, which is amusingly highlighted as the official answer to players asking why the file keeps getting blocked by various anti-virus software, is that it's a critical part of the game that needs to run alongside it.

Probably, you are playing on high graphics settings, because they take a bit of CPU and GPU power, required for post-processing effects rendering," the developer told another player in a review comment.

As if hijacking PC resources without players' knowledge weren't enough, Abstractism is also pushing a different scam at the same time: fake Team Fortress 2 items. In case you're unaware, trading is a big part of many Valve games, including Team Fortress 2. Certain items are more valuable than others, with prices starting at a few cents and going as high as hundreds of dollars. Abstractism's developer decided to tap into this economy by creating a number of fake items for the game, all of which can be traded and marketed on the Steam Market.

The trick, as one player found out the hard way, is that they bear the name, description, and image of these desirable Team Fortress 2 items. Abstractism has dozens of these items. Some are are useless images of online memes, including the usual troll ones, while others exist to scam TF2 players. There's also an assortment of homophobic and racist items, in case the other ones weren't brazen enough.

This has been going for a while, too, as seen in the sale history for some of the items. The sheer volume of these would be hilarious, it weren't sad. Valve will likely take care of this when alerted, but the lack of curation on its part will keep the door open for developers like this one to scam players.

Historically, sports aren't really our emphasis here at Android Police. As the name implies, we more go for phones and technology. But with the World Cup approaching, the coming matches are on many of our reader's minds—as well as our own. So we're curious, do you plan on following the games in any way on your Android phone? And depending on where you are, your options for watching the various games can be pretty limited. Google does make it easy to at least follow the scores and catch recaps, and Maps will be pointing out places that are "good for watching sports.

So lets run through this quickly and see what EA has offered up this year. EA make a huge effort every year to map all of the top players faces, body movements and styles — and this year is no exception. One of my favourite things about FIFA is that you can see who the players are simply by how they are running and moving on the field as they mimic their rea- life counterparts to near perfection. The stadiums are expertly rendered and you can feel the vibe change throughout the different arenas with the most advanced crowd rendering and reactions yet. Once again FIFA has failed on the rendering of the eyes and any close ups of the faces bring the startling failures to light. Looking into their eyes is like staring into the depths of an abyss with nothing but death and despair staring back.

NFTs seem to be the only thing anyone is talking about, in the football world and beyond — so what exactly are they? Chances are you've seen the likes of John Terry and other footballers change their social media icons to one of a cartoon ape , or seen these types of digital art being traded. Certain NFTs have been bought for massive amounts of money. So what are NFTs, why are footballers trading them, and what is the deal with the cartoon apes? GOAL takes a look. NFT stands for "non-fungible token", which means a unique digital collectible that is tracked on a blockchain to prove its one-of-a-kind authenticity. The data underlying NFTs are bought and sold for very high prices, and can represent anything found online — including art, photos, match highlights, 3-D renderings of trophies and music files.

The International transfer market is a multi-billion-dollar industry with around 12, cross-border transfers of professional male players taking place each year. It is a digital platform where clubs are required to enter over 30 types of data, like agent information, contract details, banking details etc. After the relevant documents and information is supplied to the system, an International Transfer Certificate ITC is issued by the member association of the parent club and delivered to the member association of the new club to which the player is being transferred.

In this new version, the game will have a reworked graphics engine. Some high-end phones will be able to run the app at 60 frames per second fps. In addition, new camera options are available for shots on goal, free kicks, corners and penalties, as well as broadcast replays. The idea is to give more immersion to the mobile game. A number of new stadiums are now available to unlock, along with unique weather for the venues, with time of day options allowing matches to be played during the day, at dusk or at night.

As I mentioned the other day, the discourse around NFTs has turned a bit of a corner of late. Critics are not just growing in number or volume, but in knowledge as well. The counterarguments become better informed, more eloquent and confidently expressed with every passing editorial or video essay. Actually, hexagon guy , people have looked into this! They have taken the time to understand the purposefully obtuse lexicon of technobabble that underpins it all. They have considered the possibilities. And now that they understand it, they like it even less.
