Chia network price reddit
Colin Pollen Aug 12, 8 min read. Mining cryptocurrency on the cloud is much easier than building your own hardware. Cloud hosting usually comes at a higher cost and requires contracts, and service providers can charge extra fees for bandwidth usage. Making things more difficult, some cloud providers are shutting off mining operations at will.

Latest Chia Network News and Social Media Feed
So i had the great idea yesterday after reading an article on mining chia and how it will be easy and non GPU intensive, to start mining it. I thought oh i have a few spare TB sitting around on external drives, may as well use them to make some cash. Well i do have a 1tb SSD so i thought all good lets download and start the mining actually its not mining its "Farming" but ill still call it mining as you are still kinda mining.
This is kinda a laymans overview of how chia mining works, as i see it, probably not accurate but just my overview anyway. So you have to create these plots that you can later use for your farm, the plots then sit on your hard drive and the software farms them and you get a very slim chance of winning a chia coin.
Sounds easy, and it is to setup and get going. On my non awesome grade ssd, it takes ages to farm a GiB plot, like probably hours ish, but i am using the pc for other things as well at the same time, so its not a dedicated mining rig. Anyway if you use the newer SSD's they get a much better plot creation time.
So i have managed to create 3 x gig plots in about a day. Running it over night as well. Oh well i guess ill have to wait for them to release the pools, but then apparently the plot code will need to change and you have to re-create the plots just for the pool. I see some people on the reddit chia have heavily invested in this farming already.
With setups like this one! I think the title said they spend 8k USD on this one. If i ran that here i think my electricity bill would be too crazy. I think i might give up on my chia crypto journey.
Ill check back when they have pools up and running, and maybe ill have some smaller success there. I didnt even make it to the threshold of the coin payout before giving up. Ah yes i was going to add the links and research i did here on chia, just read up on the reddit chia forums for further information if you want to see how the smaller scale "farmers" are doing on there, i think its not good, Even the ones with tb are not getting much action.
Just my random notes and links that i made while researching chia farming, i dont know why but every time i write farming i think i should add air quotes to it.
Unpopular opinion but if you want to see something I suggest trying hpool out. It is also a very common plotting strategy to plot on say your gaming machine and then move your plots to a Raspberry Pi 4 with a lot of USB ports.
All you need is your same 24 word mnemonic on both machines. Alternatively you can just run a remote harvester on your Pi and have it connect to your gaming machine where you are running node and farmer and only have your private keys on one machine. So i have still been plotting very slowly on my pc and copying them to another pc to run the farm. Not expecting to get anything from it really, but hey you have to try dont you? They announced that they will be relasing pooled mining on the 17th of may but the only issue there is that you need to create new plots for them to work with the pools, so i think ill just keep doing one normal plot per day, and then when the pooled ones come out ill do some of them.
Hopefully you can run both pooled and non pooled plots with the same farm as i dont really want to get rid of the current ones. I was looking through the chia reddit form again, there are some crazy builds on there, but this one i thought wow..
That is a lot of power board and cables, what a mess.. Ill keep going with my 1 plot per day and in 5 years maybe ill win a chia!
Yep so i thought i would keep just adding a random plot here and there, and guess what, i didnt get any chia. But hey i tried for what a month or so.
I had no chance of getting a chia back then, and still dont now, but i was running my pc all night keeping the network online just incase i would have a chance of getting a chia. I think there is just no point with my puny 1 tb of plots, esp when you are competing with something like this. Obviously he is joking in that post about passive, but still wasnt chia made for the small farmers? Guess not.
This is my test area for webdev. I keep a collection of code snippits here, mostly for my reference. Also if i find a good site, i usually add it here. Join me on Substack if you want me to send you a collection of the things i have done or found or read for the week. Or follow me on twitter if you prefer, i dont post much but i probably should! Posted in crypto. Almost finished the 3rd plot after probably running it for 24 hours or so. Ok too easy lets see how long until i can get the chance to make 1 chia.
Yep 7 years, ok so i guess i missed the boat on that one. Even if i added 10tb of plots, i dont think id have much chance of winning a chia. Oh well i guess you have to try. Notes Just my random notes and links that i made while researching chia farming, i dont know why but every time i write farming i think i should add air quotes to it.
Conclusion: Wait for Pools… to have a chance of getting any coins from this. So 87 times like mah which is i think what those usb drives use on average. Update: 9 June Yep so i thought i would keep just adding a random plot here and there, and guess what, i didnt get any chia. Oh yeah just View Statistics This Week. The 28 Most Sustainable Cryptocurrencies for 2022
WallStreetsBets, a forum on Reddit that recently made headlines for boosting unlikely stock picks like Gamestop , has exploded in popularity over the past two weeks. This week, it experienced a virtual coup among moderators of the subreddit that resulted in multiple waves of bans from WallStreetBets and Reddit itself. On Thursday morning, a moderator who goes by zjz, claimed that the group of moderators who oversee WallStreetBets had split over a potential movie deal following the subreddit's viral fame, creating a power struggle between two groups. Moderators oversee control of individual subreddits like WallStreetBets and make sure the sub is following Reddit's rules by removing spam and posts that break the community guidelines. According to a report from the New York Times , moderators of WallStreetBets had been discussing "landing a movie deal" and figuring out what their "cut" is in a conversation on Discord , a chat app. These mods had booted out anyone in their inner circle, like zjz, who questioned the deal and wanted the sub to remain fairly true to its original message of buying stocks with a "YOLO" mentality.
So you think you want to farm chia?
We have a daily price discussion thread. All other price-related posts will be removed and users will be directed to the daily price threads. I'd be happy to see this, but doubt it is going to happen. It is interesting witnessing the price dropping daily, though. Well, the whole market is down, but it's not the only driving factor. The hype behind Chia also diminished. BTC dictates the prices overall, even for coins like Chia where there's very little trading going on in a limited list of exchanges. Will continue sticking to my "sell 1 hodl 1" strategy in the foreseeable future for any blocks I find. No idea where the price is headed long term.
How r/WallStreetBets gamed the stock of GameStop
Maybe someone is having a go at plotting using some supercomputer cluster and making a plot in 30 seconds? Seems unlikely. Any thoughts. There is this interesting topic in Reddit about Hpool claiming people can spoof plots using Chia official app. Yes there seems to be a lot of panic in China because people wlfound a way to fool the local farmer into thinking there is more space.

No other shovel matches its unique blend of ideal size, ergonomics, durability, and availability. An ideal combination of size, weight, ergonomics, and materials makes this the right shovel to clear off steps, sidewalks, patios, or decks. The True Temper Inch Ergonomic Mountain Mover has a sturdy, lightweight aluminum shaft that gloved hands can grip anywhere. Its inch-wide plastic scoop is neither overly large and awkward nor too small and inefficient. The shovel has a curved shaft, an unusual design that makes moving snow easier, as it means you have to put less work into each swing. This secondary handle attaches to the shaft and improves ergonomics and lessens the risk of injury.
Just two weeks after launch, storage-based cryptocurrency Chiacoin drives up disk prices
TL;DR: Backblaze, the cloud storage company famously known for churning out HDD reliability figures every quarter, is now offering its services to the Chia community. The cryptocurrency requires lots of storage space for plotting and farming, a perfect use case and business opportunity it seems for Backblaze and its cloud storage platform. Chia continues to disrupt the storage industry, even with the crypto's struggling price. Now, Backblaze is hopping onto the Chia bandwagon with the announcement of its experimental Chia plot storage and farming service. Although Backblaze says the use of its B2 cloud platform would be profitable, citing Chia Calculator and other dependencies like network space growth rate and the crypto's current price, the actual earning potential at present seems unconvincing. Nonetheless, Backblaze is targeting this service at users who've already "delved into farming and are now facing empty shelves as they seek out storage solutions for their plots.
Truly decentralized DeFi with Chia Offers
The Chia cryptocurrency has enraptured the crypto world, energizing storage nerds in a pretty fun and exciting way. Because Chia is not dependent on GPUs like other popular cryptocurrencies, the notion of Chia plotting storage write-intensive and then farming high-capacity storage availability is pretty much open to anyone. Beyond that, the server offers four onboard gigabit LAN ports, which is actually quite sufficient here, despite our tendency to put GbE cards in everything.

Chia seeds can be pretty cheap through Amazon. Mix 3tbsp with a cup of milk or milk substitute of your choice. Stir again after it's set up for a few minutes. I like mine with cinnamon, raisins, and a little vanilla extract. I personally think it's a good idea to go on the safe side so I double the dose of chia seeds 56g and assuming average conversion rate, it would only produce about mg of DHA for 56g of chia seeds.

Despite its satirical nature, some consider it a legitimate investment prospect. Dogecoin features the face of the Shiba Inu dog from the " Doge " meme as its logo and namesake. With the help of Reddit , the site became an instant hit. Dogecoin takes only 1 minute to confirm, while BTC takes 10 minutes. They wanted to create a peer-to-peer digital currency that could reach a broader demographic than Bitcoin.
By Matthew Sparkes. A cryptocurrency mining farm in Nadvoitsy, Russia. Cryptocurrencies based on owning a large number of hard discs, rather than using computer processors, could offer a less energy-intensive alternative to bitcoin and might even make it cheaper to build data centres — although one is already causing soaring demand for hard discs that is disrupting supply chains.
