To preserve a livable climate, greenhouse-gas emissions must be reduced to net zero by Bold, fast, and wide-ranging action needs to be taken by governments and businesses. But the transition to a low-carbon world also requires the participation of citizens — especially in advanced economies. ActNow is the United Nations campaign for individual action on climate change and sustainability. Every one of us can help limit global warming and take care of our planet.

Supply Outages: There are currently no supply outages on our South Australia network. Read more about gas outages, leaks, and emergencies. Coronavirus Update: During the South Australia lockdown starting on 20 July, our critical operations remain fully operational to maintain the safe and reliable natural gas supply for the community.
However new connection services may be delayed until lockdown restrictions are eased. More information is available here. Read more. Renewable and carbon-neutral gases such as hydrogen and biomethane can be used in the same way as natural gas is today, but do not result in additional carbon emissions to the atmosphere.
By blending and ultimately replacing natural gas with renewable gas we can use our existing infrastructure to supply renewable gas to our customers. It also means customers retain their choice of energy supplier, and industries relying on gas can continue to access it. Blending renewable gas with the natural gas already in our networks is a key part of our Low Carbon Strategy. Our aim is to fully decarbonise our distribution networks by as a stretch target, and by no later than Need to get in touch?

RIP - GasNow
New research from Harvard University, in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, the University of Leicester and University College London, found that more than 8 million people died in from fossil fuel pollution, significantly higher than previous research suggested—meaning that air pollution from burning fossil fuels like coal and diesel was responsible for about 1 in 5 deaths worldwide. Now more than ever we can see the healthier, more just and sustainable world that climate actions can deliver. Our response to climate change must prioritize and optimize health and equity. We can improve health through climate actions that reduce our use of fossil fuels. Read Now. A literature review examines the last ten years of research on methane and health-damaging air pollutant emissions from the oil and gas industry. A new inventory of air pollution impacts from stationary sources over the past decade shows this trend may continue. The first study to look at the effectiveness of PA's statewide setback regulations and identify the potential risks and exposures for people living near fracking or UNG wells.

3 reasons why gas prices are so high right now
The probable causes for the current increase are a slight uptick in demand and the high price of crude oil, according to the federation of motor clubs that tracks prices. OPEC previously decided in July to boost crude output by , barrels each month until at least April The collective met Monday and decided to continue the increase rate established in July rather than further boosting the supply to meet demand, according to The Associated Press. The most important driver of the fluctuating price of gas is crude oil, from which gasoline is derived. In response to the low demand due to reduced travel and lockdown restrictions, major oil-producing countries like Russia, Saudi Arabia and other member countries of OPEC decided to cut down on their own oil production, said Mark Finley , a fellow at Rice University's Center for Energy Studies. But the cut meant oil producers weren't ready to meet the demand for crude oil once it renewed this year thanks to the easing of COVIDrelated restrictions. Ohio and Arizona experienced the nation's largest weekly increase of 11 cents and 7 cents more per gallon, respectively.
