The resident of Newport, Wales has once again started his search for the drive and urged local city officials to let him dig through landfill sites. The man claims that he had two identical-looking hard drives and threw away the one which had the 'private key' required to access and spend the units of cryptocurrency stored on his computer while cleaning his office in A private key is a form of encryption, a digital signature that provides an algorithmic proof that the transaction was done by the owner. Slijhourd Commendable. Dec 29, 12 0 1, 0. I recently upgraded my computer and installed a new motherboard and hard drive among many things. I have the old hard drive plugged in to the motherboard, but I'm at a loss for how exactly to get my bitcoins from the old hard drive to a bitcoin wallet on my new hard drive.
I'm not sure if I'm overthinking it or not, but basically my question is this: How do I take my bitcoin wallet from my old hard drive and put it on my current hard driver SSD without losing any of the coins that I have?
