The stunning, minimalist exterior and innovative interior layout are engineered precisely to the most exacting performance standards. The accommodates mm power supplies, and mm high-end graphics cards. It supports mm external mounted liquid cooling radiators, and CPU heatsinks up to mm.
Supports high-end graphics cards up to mm F. Supports power supplies up to mm G. CPU cut-off hole for easy installation H. Unique hidden slim ODD design I. Removable 2. Pros: This case has the best fit and finish out of any I have had. It is heavy for what it is. Has a very thick "brushed" stainless steel look although aluminum.
It can accommodate somewhat long graphics cards, decent sized PSUs and even relatively large not huge air cooled heat sinks. Also supports water coolers. Air flow seems to work well for the most part if you use good fans you have to buy your own.
The tinted tempered glass gives it a nice look, although the glass panels are a little on the thin side. The screw accessory kit is very complete. It comes with screw bags that have an over-abundance of screws for most possible standard components that this case supports and the bags are even well labelled. Also all of the drive bays have quick disconnect fittings which all line up real well with the components. Overall excellent quality! Cons: So now the bad side of things.
The slim dvd drive that the case accepts is in an awkward place it is nicely hidden but it is kind of awkward to pop the disks in and out of the tray from that position. Also it requires a floppy disk power connector for some reason, so if you get this case and really want to use this drive bay, make sure your PSU comes with a floppy power connector or you need to purchase one separately.
Also while it allows relatively long graphics boards, the width is another problem. I bought an MSI r9 and while the board itself fit fine, the power connectors on the side of the board were nearly flush with the glass. Needless to say with the power connections from the PSU attached, the glass couldn't be put on that side.
Luckily since this case was for my daughter I put my older GTX in which fit fine not only because it was more narrow but because the power connections were on the end of the board. I kept the MSI board for my own computer replacing the I was looking at the newer boards after this and most seem to have the connectors on the long side of the board. The only company that I have seen so far that seems to have kept them on the end is Club 3D based on pictures I saw.
Also like many other ITX cases, cable management is a little bit more of a chore than normal. Also while not really a con, because of it being very substantial, it will weigh more than another mini ITX rig, so if you plan I transporting it, you may want to reconsider for that reason and the fact that you may break the glass, scratch or mar your great looking new case!
Also the price is high, but in this case you get what you pay for. And while I would recommend a lateral air cooler like this and the Noctua works very well in this case because of where the intake and exhaust is, it looks like a big eyesore which kind of subtracts from the aesthetics of the whole thing. If I built the whole thing again I would probably end up putting a water cooler on it and still might.
Even with the cons I still give this 5 stars because of its great looks and excellent quality and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. Pros: When I first saw this case it was love at first sight. I looked through almost all the cases Newegg had to offer and I kept coming back to this one.
There were definitely compromises I had to make from what I originally had in mind to complete the build, but in the end it was well worth it. The design and look is absolutely breathtaking in person. I watched a few reviews on Youtube and at times it was difficult to really understand their appreciation for the overall aesthetics and build quality.
I can tell you first hand the brushed aluminum is gorgeous. It looks times better in person. The case is extremely sturdy, well-constructed and impeccably engineered as a mostly functional work of art. A friend of mine that has been building computers for 5 plus years agrees he has never seen a case with such great build quality.
Cons: As much as I love the case there are some things I would change. I think a case with this attention to detail and price range should consider individually braided cables for all that are included or at least cover all exposed wires. There are great braided cables that come with the case and are ruined by heat shrink tubing and exposed color wires. I would think people buying this case are going to put in the effort to make this build as slick as possible.
My last complaint is that the interior, especially the HDD bay can very easily scratch. And the two metal notches to pull the hard drives out rattle like crazy, so I just removed them, problem solved!
Overall Review: This was my first mini-itx build second ever computer build and like another reviewer said if this is your first ever computer build it can definitely be a challenge.
I would recommend that anyone building in this case to use a fully modular power supply and invest in individually braided cables for easier cable management. I chose to go with Cablemod. Expensive, but this is not a cheap case, and with glass on both sides this helps to keep things neat and tidy as well as keep the work of art intact. Also, depending on with holes you decide to run the cables through the individually braided cables are a must!
I assume because most builds would take place in a mid-tower there is a lot of extra cable next to the power supply which look cluttered through the glass and this helps to keep the clean look as well. Spend a little extra money and make this case shine! It really is a great case if you are willing to put in the extra time and effort to make it work. I will be building a computer for my dad in an after the New Year and I just saw the new and I think that will be my next case.
I will do the build I would have done for this case if I had the room. I also like the improvements they made in functionality for a bigger case over some of their others currently available. Pros: Elegant design aesthetics, Durable premium materials, Compact form factor allows flexible placement, Nice airflow and relatively easy to build in for size.
Overall Review: The reason why I dont think this case has any cons is because it is my first build and it is built better than any other case I have seen or owned. I wanted a case that was stylish and would last a long time. I really dont like all the plastic blinged out cases. I knew from researching this case what I was getting into so I wont mention things that I knew about before purchasing as a negative. As stated in a lot of reviews whether text or video - this case doesnt have the most options for cooling.
You have enough room for a radiator on the back, but I am going with a low profile heatsink by Noctua. There is ample room on the backside of the motherboard tray to route wires nice.
The magnetic dustscreen is a cool touch. The front controls area is tidy, the logo lights up, the glass is plenty eye catching in spite of how simplified the look is with the aluminum. Its a very modern look and a smaller foot print. The trade offs for those two aspects make the limited aspects of ITX much more bearable.
Pros: This is a review of the Inwin ! Cons: - Only supports two case fans: a mm intake fan in the bottom front area, where the space is located, and a 92mm fan mount for the radiator area next to the motherboard.
Wish they were both mm. Overall Review: In case you were wondering, this case is indeed tempered glass, which is stronger than regular glass and has a thick, purplish black tinting to it. This tinting invites users to use LED lights inside their case to show off their components. The front air intake fan is a mm fan, not a 92mm like I originally thought. The 92mm fan is for the mount located above and to the left of the motherboard if facing the case from the side that views the front of the motherboard.
It is important to buy the fans you want with the color scheme you want, as well as any sleeving or specific wiring because BOTH sides are tempered glass and so nothing will be truly hidden, unless you don't light up the case! There is room behind the 92mm mount to place an intake 92mm fan and mount a radiator on the backside. Perhaps even room to mount a second 92mm fan, although it might have to be a slim one if you want it to fit behind the back piece of aluminum.
Otherwise, just find a way to mount it to the aluminum backing. The mm fan is mounted in a TRAY, which is located directly above the little pocket of air in the only part of the case that's not covered by tempered glass. You just undo a thumbscrew, slide the tray out and mount the fan. There is a piece of aluminum that covers the door to the slim optical drive bay. I already tested one inside the case, and there are no problems with it sticking out or not sitting flush, so don't worry about that if you are thinking about it.
The hard drives already come with sata power cables and connectors, so all you need are the hard drives themselves. They are sleeved back and are covered enough to not see the inside wiring. Inwin got it right to sleeve all their pre-installed cables with nice, thick black sleeving. Think carefully about the path of airflow in the case. If using a long graphics card, I can imagine that most of the airflow will either be sucked into the graphics card or blown upwards through the hard drive mountings.
I'm not really sure yet on how the PSU or anything is going to get anything but lukewarm or warm air. The CPU will have a fan on a heatsink or a fan on a radiator, sure, but the air it will be exhausting will be warm air floating up from the back of a graphics card or the airflow from the hard drive cages that pushes over towards the motherboard. I think everything will stay within reasonable range, but don't expect ice cold temperatures in a case not really meant for performance cooling, but aethestics.
Overall, exciting and unique case, I am looking forward to making my build in it!
