I actually "Walk the Walk" and sell millions on Amazon every month. Don't waste your time on "bargain experts" or rah-rah courses. My success on Amazon is not through gimmicks, but implementation of time honored business principles twisted to fit Amazon and Ebay selling. I am an expert on small technical issues e. Additionally, I can give expert advice on manufacturing and sourcing.
In , I was the largest reseller of cryptocurrency wallets in the world including Ledger, Trezor, OpenDime, KeepKey and even my own manufactured products.
From there I have spent years studying the markets and the future of cryptocurrencies. I can provide general insight, although I am not an investment adviser. I operate a 50 employee manufacturing plant using advanced Lean Manufacturing techniques. Most of my experience is focused on practical applications of Lean Manufacturing as opposed to statistical analysis.
My factory primarily performs sheet metal fabrication and assembly so I am best suited for that or similar manufacturing operations. My companies have imported millions of dollars of products from China including finished goods and components.
These span a variety of applications and industries including: Industrial, Electrical e. I can help on many topics from contacting suppliers to final logistics. Expert on Alibaba. This includes selling on Amazon and Ebay and selling directly to Amazon. This is made up of products both sourced elsewhere and manufactured by my company. Since I know both perspectives I provide insight on how to position the product, price and distribution details to optimize the success of products on Amazon and Ebay.
If you sell via Vendor Central versus the standard Seller Central , then you can overwrite it all. Amazon gives much more latitude to the sellers that provide them the product and consider them the authority, versus some guy who may be selling it out of his garage.
The problem is, right, Amazon can't tell if you are a guy in his garage that picked up a bunch of these on a closeout or the actual brand owner. If you sell via Vendor Central they now consider you the brand owner and will allow you to make any changes you want to the existing listing. Sell on Amazon. Avoid all the infrastructure and focus on your product and brand.
Once you have scale and proven sales via Amazon, then you have something to stand on. They sell all the major brands. Online stores are dying. They are moving toward boutique status whereas Amazon is what malls or strip-malls once were before Amazon. If you don't know what you are doing don't try to learn it--lean on Amazon and focus on what you do well product development, branding, etc. This may seem low, but allows you to focus on throughput and not margin optimization while still allowing them to capture a large percent of the payment.
Master Distributors. You can do it both ways. I am a Master Distributor for a Norwegian brand that wanted to reach the US Market, but didn't have the bandwidth to create a whole distribution network within the US. If you can help find good pairings of distributors and those needing distribution you can add a lot of value to customers.
It comes down to understanding the players in different markets and who needs those distribution channels. Simplifies and eliminates all the things you don't want to be distracted by and let's you focus on your business. I recently helped a guy in Slovenia do essentially what you are trying to do. Choose the quality you want your brand to embody and then think of things that embody that characteristic.
For example, Iron Mountain is pretty much just a document shredding company. They chose that name because they emphasize how secure their processes are as opposed to how fast, cheap, or simple they are to work with.
If you want to emphasize how "sexy" your product is then emphasize that. If you want them to be "fun" then go for something that embodies that. The same goes for quality, inexpensive, comfortable, etc. Contact me. My background is in metal fabrication, although not specifically with jewelry. I can tell you that unless these are extremely high end pieces that 3D printing them in metal is unrealistic. Machining them is likely the best option if they are a single piece.
Titanium is difficult to work with compared to Steel or Aluminum because of it's hardness and is generally more expensive, so it may be helpful to speak with people who have experience with metals to see if there are other options. The nice part about machining is that once you have set up the cost per piece is pretty much the same regardless of if you are doing 3, 30 or pieces.
A machine shop will just charge you the ship rate, so you don't have to commit to large quantities to gain scale. Also, there are a lot of Mom and Pop machine shops that likely have the right equipment so you can make them "win you business" by giving you a good rate off the bat. As an owner of a commercial 3D printer and reseller of 3D printing filament I can tell you that 3D printing is still best used to confirm your CAD designs in plastic, but likely not yet a production ready technology for metal products.
Contact me if you want to talk specifically about the metal fabrication processes needed for your product. The big question that is always a challenge for a marketplace is refereeing between buyers and sellers when there is a conflict.
Basically, what processes are in place to make sure there is a resolution if a transaction turns sour between buyer and seller. Ebay, for example, tends to favor the buyer and any loss for the seller is to be viewed as a "cost of doing business. These are gross generalizations about these marketplaces, but in order for a marketplace to succeed it needs to be trusted and liked by BOTH buyers and sellers.
Otherwise, each group will continue to look for alternate channels outside your marketplace. Let me know if you would like more insight, specifics or solutions. Each coin comes with its own Bitcoin address and a private key to access an amount of the digital money equal to the purported value of the physical coin.
