The first step when troubleshooting is to upgrade Awesome Miner to the latest version. Either click the blue Menu button and Check for updates or visit the Download page on the web site. The currently installed version is displayed in the lower left corner of the application. Please make sure that either the latest GPU drivers are used, or the GPU drivers that are recommended by the author of the mining software are used. If any overclocking is made, restore the clock speed to the default values to ensure a stable baseline before proceeding with any overclocking. This will launch the mining software, include information about the command line arguments Awesome Miner used to launch the software and also any output or error messages from the mining software.

MSI Z370 SLI PLUS Mining Review & How To Setup

I can run the game on ultra at around fps. If I turn down a few settings I can hit a steady 60fps. This is one of the most demanding games I have tested. Battlefield 1 Stellar performance, my GPUs don't even break a sweat in this game on ultra. Fallout 4 Runs great, never dips below 60fps on ultra settings.
Rise of the Tomb Raider Great scaling but lots of bugs. I'm not sure of the reason. I will have to test this further. It runs very well on ultra settings at 4k resolution. Assassin's Creed Black Flag This game has been my one disappointment so far. Performance is excellent however the framerate dips way too much and it really ruins the experience.
I will update this OP and this thread as I try out more games. So far I am thoroughly impressed. All of the games I have tried so far have shown great scaling, and in a number of cases I'm getting significantly higher performance compared to a single GTX Ti, which I was not expecting.
Still decent. If you guys have any type of modern GPU I highly recommend mining! Even the GTX cards are good for it, shockingly. If you need any help setting it up just let me know and I'll do what I can. The setup is pretty daunting if you don't have help. It's very simple once you know what you're doing and what to look for. Reputation: I wish nvidia would block mining in the drivers, keep the miners on AMD cards, it's about all they are good for. Nvidia now sells no warranty chips at a discounted rate to their partners who wish to make dedicated mining cards.
These cards have no video output so they can't be dumped on the market after the mining bubble bursts :clapping:. SteelCrysis Golden Member. Joined: Aug Reputation: 4. I just don't know how you guys can say no to free money like this. And it wasn't even mining the entire time. I was playing games quite a bit and one night it was shut down.
These cards have no video output so they can't be dumped on the market after the mining bubble bursts :clapping: I hope they do what I suggested then and block coin mining in drivers for geforce graphics cards.
Only permit it on the SKU dedicated to it and perhaps Tesla's and Quadro's if the purchasers are insane enough to want to mine on a SKU that expensive. If Nvidia blocked mining in the drivers, the miners would just use older drivers or hacked drivers. There are already alternate cheap Nvidia mining GTX s that are power efficient, fanless, and without a display output that won't affect GeForce gamers. AMD can't do a mining card because clearly they are supply constrained even for Polaris.
I don't have much hope left for Vega being in any supply when it finally does release -- it looks like Fury redux. AMD never learns :emo:. They aren't in a good position if they have orders to fill and no inventory And by the time they ramp up Polaris, the mining bubble may burst. It's a difficult position to be in AMD is very predictable It's a management issue. Nvidia is also pretty predictable. But they don't repeat their mistakes, hence their successes.
It also comes down to good management. You're right, they have a problem :mmm:. Vega looks pretty brutal. The power consumption numbers came out today. Vega really looks like a product that was intended for the console market, first and foremost.
PC usage was an afterthought, along with compute. Hey do you guys have any mm fan recommendations? I want to upgrade my mm intake fan to hopefully help cool my SLI setup a little better. If it goes well I will also upgrade my mm exhaust fan. I am also considering upgrading one of my mm side intake fans. I figure if I upgrade the one that is directly blowing on the GPUs it might help.
I hear Noctua fans are the best. What do you guys think? The Noctua fans are expensive; I'm not sure if they are worth the extra cash. View a Printable Version. Linear Mode. Threaded Mode. Remember me Lost Password?

Can you CrossFire two different brands?
As newer graphics card architectures are released with more and more efficient processing it becomes better to stick to the newer cards to maximize profit due to space and power requirements. With availability of the Ti getting better over the past few weeks, it looks to be a worthwhile investment for miners and enthusiasts looking to make some profit. These 2 cards provide good performance at a reasonable price and TDP, and the series cards don't seem to bring a whole lot of extra performance to the table at their higher cost and power draw. When purchasing graphics cards for mining purposes, it is important to choose a card with good quality fans. Many cards used for mining should be 'undervolted', which means that they run as cool as possible for the lowest power consumption. Also remember that graphics cards are not manufactured with the aim of mining. When running multiple graphics cards you will also need high wattage efficient power supplies to provide enough juice to the cards, check out our range of quality power supplies here! If you are interested in some of these graphics cards , check out our huge range here or take a look below for some recommended cards! Mining causes higher GPU and memory temperatures which can decrease the life of your graphics card. Computer Lounge does not provide warranty for graphics cards used for cryptocurrency mining.

MSI Releases Special Motherboard BIOSes for Mining
There are many examples today of how PC gaming is flourishing better than ever. You only have to look towards the eSports market to understand how alive and well the ecosystem is. Games like PUBG are being played by the millions , and naturally, that's making many more want to explore the PC gaming world and the components of a killer gaming rig that are the tools of the trade. Typical crypto-mining rig - one guess as to why GPU prices are so high right now This should be a time when every hard-core PC gamer should be gloating and grinning from ear-to-ear. However, there is one thing that's throwing as a wrench in many a PC builder's gears currently and that's pricing.
How to lower your graphics card temperature
A look back at the beginnings, the fat years and the descent into insignificance. The idea inherited from 3dfx, to have graphics cards rendered in games in a team, celebrated its success after the first attempts at walking with the GeForce 6, but it could not prevail. At the end of June , BitcoinMinersHashrate announced "3dfx returns: Nvidia with SLI" and memories of the legendary graphics accelerator Voodoo 2 from the no less legendary graphics card manufacturer 3dfx Interactive were awakened. With SLI, Nvidia used an idea that the ex-competitor at Voodoo, which had been taken over in , had already pursued: having graphics cards rendered in games in a network. Six and a quarter years after the launch of 3dfx's legendary Voodoo 2 card, the time has come again: SLI is once again making its way into PCs. The feature that was considered revolutionary at the time, which allowed the available 3D performance to be doubled in one fell swoop by coupling two PCI cards, is now also available for GeForce 6 cards with PCI Express. A few months passed before SLI had to prove itself in the test. The first conclusion was rather mixed.
Is SLI Still Worth It for Playing Demanding Games?
No, you cannot mix 2 different GPU models even from the same brand, though you can mix same GPU from different brands. With the latest generation cards, they will only crossfire with other cards in their sub series. For example, GPU in the same series can be crossfired with each other.

My question is, are those bitcoin mining rigs good enough for rendering? Have anyone tried those rigs for rendering with Blender and post their experience? Thanks in advance. Almost all transfers to GPU memory happen at startup, so PCIe bandwidth does not affect rendering performance significantly. In either case, for best performance, there should be as few PCIe transfers as possible, no matter how much PCIe bandwidth you have.

Xfx rx schematic. The instruction book just says to plug in the power leads. The Silent Mode is the where the switch is toggled in the direction of the monitor outputs. The asus r9 direct cu ii oc improves on that with a better cooler and overclock out of the box.
