La grande guerre france allemagne
This international conference is dedicated to the occupations of the First World War. Its aim is to understand the different forms taken by the occupations during the First World War and to develop better categories of analysis by looking beyond the traditional geographical and chronological limits towards the Greater War. It will be conducted In English. A historiographical renewal has emerged in recent years with regard to the military occupations in Europe during World War One. Still, as yet, few historians have tried to connect and compare these occupations at the European or even global level, to question the transfers between them, and finally to consider them more comprehensively in the long run or in the broad perspective of imperial regimes of domination.

James F. Particularly welcome is his comparative and interdisciplinary approach, since the virtues of comparative history are more often preached than practised, even by Historial historians. By far the most popular form of war literature was personal narratives describing the experience of life at the front, rather than novels.
Only in French. Unfortunately France and the United States of America have published a joint statement to name the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons as a nuisance and a threat to World peace. The preamble mentions not only the catastrophic consequences of use of nuclear ammunition but also the risk of accidental triggering.
Writing in Wartime
It proposed the creation of a European Coal and Steel Community, whose members would pool coal and steel production. In , the nations of Europe were still struggling to overcome the devastation wrought by World War II, which had ended 5 years earlier. Determined to prevent another such terrible war, European governments concluded that pooling coal and steel production would — in the words of the Declaration — make war between historic rivals France and Germany "not merely unthinkable, but materially impossible". It was thought — correctly — that merging of economic interests would help raise standards of living and be the first step towards a more united Europe. Membership of the ECSC was open to other countries. World peace cannot be safeguarded without the making of creative efforts proportionate to the dangers which threaten it.
France-Allemagne: le pont des arts avant la guerre
Unger Richard W. Sources of food supplies for European capitals in the eighteenth century. Governments in the eighteenth century were very concerned about food supplies for capital cities since shortages often led to disturbances and riots. They implemented various policies to try to guarantee a flow of grains to those cities. The development of international trade in the eighteenth century appears to have had little effect on sources of supply. Even in the overwhelming majority of food for capital cities came from nearby. That fact dominated the market for grain and informed all government policies on commerce in foodstuffs.
This study in historical climatology draws on data which permits to identify and analyze the meteorological constraints experienced by soldiers in the trenches of the Marne and the Meuse France during the Great War. This study examined civil and military archives in order to fill this gap in the data and to develop our knowledge of the atmospheric context, defining sequences of bad weather : very rainy, such as in ; or very cold, such as in the winter of By means of annual and monthly analyses and of a daily chronicle, this quantitative approach confirms the exceptional weather conditions during the War of
