You buy this to store your crypto in a safe place and I don't trust Amazon for this, too many reviews of boxes already opened and all. But at the end of the day, this is your money. Amazon has been known to resell returned items as new. This can be very dangerous as people have been know to repackage with pre seeded phrases or modify the hardware itself.
It's much safer to buy directly from Ledger. Not saying the risk changes, but Ledger does list Amazon as an authorized store: Ledger Retailers Network. Is Ledger even still safe after things like this keep happening? A number of gone down with coins lost or stolen and pretty much impossible to recover.
Leaving a copy of your wallet file on your computer can also be risky if you are hacked. Assume your Ledger isn't physically hacked, I believe it is considered the safest way to hold crypto coins.
