R9 good for mining. The GPU is the chip that enables graphics cards often called GPUs for brevity in mining circles to perform millions of repetitive calculations at the same time so that games can be rendered in real time. About this item. Last edited: Feb 12, As such, mining is a good way for developers to acquire the needed fuel to run their dapps on the Blockchain. I tried reinstall drivers, get latest adrenalin driver for gpu, but nothing help.

I tried the following: - Catalyst It is the first time I use this used x, I successfully let glxgears and glmark2 run so it does not seem to be generally defect.
Any ideas what I could do or test what is defect? I modded only one RX copied timings to After days, my rig was off because of that modded card.
I pulled out the card and the rig is ON. I installed the suspect card in another PC, but I have no image on my monitor, no post, no nothing the pc works Ok without that card. I used the bios switch of the sapphire card, but still nothing The warranty, I believe that is gone because of the custom bios. Low mhs with factory settings or medium hash rate 26 mhs with modified bios but high risk of damaged card Note to self: Never flash all your cards at once.
What do I mean by brick? After rebooting, my cards would start, but I would have a black screen. No Post screen, nada. I tried my monitor on each card, tried only having one plugged in, etc, without avail. I am no expert, but am outlining the steps I took. I take no responsibilites! Note: You need either a graphcis card or a integrated graphics card I used an old graphics card. Unplug all your dead cards, plug in the working card I used USB riser, seating it could work but with the paperclip it's going to be hard.
You need enable that you primarily boot from your IGPU or videocard. Turn off your PC. I now connected my monitor cable into the VGA input on my motherboard so it was not directly plugged into the GPU card 4. Turn your PC on to ensure that you can boot. If OK, turn off. Keep the monitor cable connected to the motherboard.
This means you connect pins 1 and 8 on your dead GPU using a paperclip, you bridge the pins so that they touch. Turn on your PC. Post screen should appear. If not, check that paperclip is touching pins 1 and 8 I gave it a nudge. Once in Windows, open the cmd admin prompt for atiflash. Run atiflash -i and your dead card should appear, but state "fail". Remove the paperclip, re-run atiflash -i, now you should see BIOS version I liked to take this extra step.
Now reflash as you want using atiflash -f -p 0 xxx. Once finished, turn off your PC and repeat from step 5 for each card. However when I did that my display driver reset to the Windows one. I followed what others had done and uninstalled the drivers using DDU and reinstalled them. It didn't do anything. Next I tried Crimson That worked for a bit but now apparently my driver has a problem and although GPU Z recognises the driver, it can't read clock speed or temperature.
AMD Radeon Settings also won't recognise the driver. Is there something I can do to fix this? Also, I'd be keen for some advice as to how to increase mining speed? Hey guys, I just started mining Ethereum using the Claymore DualMiner, but when I close the command console, which is executing the mining program, it doesn't seem to stop.
Is this normal? Or does it just take lots of time to close the program? Thanks in advance! Do you plan to resell your GPUs after you're finished mining? Do you keep that in mind when overclocking? Do you get every last hash out of them and not worry about the next person, or do you keep it modest so they will be in good working order if a gamer decides to buy them later?
Hi, after a lot of trouble and desperate weeks with my system I finally got my 3x s recognized by my system: OK cant upload pictures here for whatever reason -. I uninstalled windows and all drivers because I just used a version of windows which was from a previous mainboard and a leftover of my SSD hard drive.
Any ideas? I'm thinking of going for the 6pin VERC , but wondering how to best provide the power? Would something like the below work? Is it possible to daisy-chain as I've shown, or should I provide 6pin-6pin for each riser? I know to allow for 75W on each riser but that's about it.. Not sure how to do the math to check if it's possible. Another option would be to use the 6pin-4x molex that comes with the power supply, then use a molex to 6pin adapter.
Is that what most people do? How many risers can you run off the 6pin - 4x molex? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I had 3 gpus running great on simplemining, I got a fourth today, plugged it in and got: sudo: rc. I pulled out the new card and just went back to known configuration Now nothing works. Windows 7 recognizes all 4 gpus, but now claymore reads No AMD devices and closes.
I checked amd driver and says it's installed. I tried different pcie slots also. I tried on-board hdmi and then pci slot to gpu I changed the mobo bios and then went back to known configuration. Please need help, I have 3 of these bloody cards and can't get them to efficiently hash. Any Help is much appreciated. Cheers all. Updated and restarted the GPU's 3 times now. Pretty much randomly GPU's decide to work but cant get all 6 to work.
Is there compatibility issues between 's and 's? I'm sure there isn't theres just something I'm missing or doing wrong. So I have been mining for only a DAY or so now.
But I have been studying up on this topic of mining all day as I was waiting for my parts. I am using Claymore's miner with the recommended drivers on Nanopool. It only isn't until now, after I have been mining for a short amount of time that I am realizing a few things. GPU stability matters more than hash rate. However, the card wasn't stable. Often I'd get prompts on Claymore's miner that my RX received an incorrect allocation of shares or something to that nature.
It happened once or twice every five minutes or so, and I noticed that as it happened, it seemed to slow down my mining. Also, the Claymore miner would go down every while or so not sure why. I left the 2 GPU rig on overnight and woke up to it still going.
The RX finds a share every so often. My R9 8GB is a beast. I'd say 3x what the RX is finding.

Describe the bug Using ethminer with Nanopool, while hashrate and shares are being registered properly, the miners don't show up in the worker list despite I've set the worker name and later on a passcode on each of the systems that I use to mine. However, the hashrate and shares do register properly and I'm indeed getting ETHs there. Not sure if anyone have reported this before, but I saw this on reddit which seemed to be similar. Do I need to set some additional parameters to get this working? NOTE: The arguments mentioned there appear to be outdated and not really compatible with the recent ethminer versions anymore.

I recently wrote an article about earning money mining Ethereum , and in the few weeks since it was published Ethereum has continued to break all time high value records. The London fork will introduce Ether burning in July, which will increase scarcity significantly. I know many crypto enthusiasts are incredibly bullish on Ethereum, and I am absolutely in that camp. Even though the ETH 2. Many new miners are likely using NiceHash, which is an application that makes mining simple. Just a month ago it would still seem reasonable to take your payout in Bitcoin even if you paid a small fee to do so, however in our current market it may be more desirable to earn Ethereum.

You don't know why 4 of my shares are rejected every hour on every miner and not recorded by your system? As you can see in the error message the share was stale, meaning for an old block. We cannot accept stale shares as they cannot be used to create a valid block. According to the stratum protocol miners should not submit stale shares back to the pool.
Ergo node rewards. If you do happen to ignore the above warning and overwrite your farmer, you can still get it back. I'm not sure where this idea fairy could get planted but this … 1. Mining Profit Calculator is an App that calculates the reward from your mining based on the selected algorithm, power consumption, power cost and pool fee. Ergo is going to be not just a chain, but a king of chains which will improve cryptoeconomic security of the protocol as miners will get additional rewards from sidechains. The block rewards are equally distributed to both PoW and node operators.

We tested popular alternatives for the Ethash algorithm. For a long time, Claymore has been the most popular mining software for Ethereum and other Dagger-Hashimoto coins, including Ethereum Classic , Pirl , Callisto and Expanse. The software worked beautifully with the Nvidia and AMD graphics cards and was easy to set up.
