Theymos bitcointalk down
The administrator of the Bitcointalk forum under the nickname Theymos announced that the Grin cryptocurrency oriented on increased privacy based on the MimbleWimble protocol will be accepted as payment. He praised the technology at the heart of the new digital currency and noted that it was created in the true spirit of encryption. Nevertheless, Theymos doubted that many would use Grin, but he still intended to rewrite the payment system on the forum, adding support for Lightning-payments. The administrator added that he does not call to buy or not to buy Grin, but he thinks that the price of the asset will decline for some time. Note that Grin received high marks from the co-owner of bitcoin. He stressed that he plans to purchase a significant number of new coins.

Bitcoin Forum’ Bitcointalk.org goes downsecond time in a week
This week, Bitcointalk administrator Theymos, contacted every participant in several discussions over the Butterfly Labs case. The reason for this contact was a court decision in which the Bitcointalk admin was forced to reveal information regarding the case. Theymos later opened a thread and sent an email to those involved, explaining what was happening and outlining the possible implications. It was a huge hassle to put all of this info together. The subpoena originally demanded all PMs that even mentioned BFL, which is ridiculous, but I managed to get this part eliminated. I feel like people should have basically no expectation of privacy for something that they posted publicly anyway. The court ordered Theymos to turn over the private messages because they may contain information that supports certain claims being made in the BFL case. Theymos also revealed the usernames of people involved in the BFL messages. Although he marked that information confidential, he noted that he was not sure if he could prevent the private messages from being made public.

The site's primary medium of exchange was Bitcoin, the digital, ostensibly anonymous currency. And right now, the talk on Bitcoin forums is pretty grim - not least because the FBI's indictment indicates the feds are monitoring them. The criminal complaint alleges that Ulbricht went by the name "altoid" on Bitcointalk. How does one extract IP information and possibly deleted posts with a normal account? A user named "Rampion" called out "theymos," an administrator at Bitcointalk. They are monitoring these forums and much more , they looked how a guy called "altoid" mentioned SR very early on, he had registered that account with his real email BTW, Theymos: how did they get the email through which he registered his btctalk account?

Here are some interesting facts. This is how things have always been since the start. That is, until SegWit a softfork implementation by Blockstream that fundamentally changes Bitcoin to benefit Blockstream. From a "blocksize increase" to the scaling debate, to a "malleability fix" to a "quadratic hash fix" to blah blah blah.. They have parents on a second layer lightning network that would run on top of Bitcoin and would make money on the transactions, effectively making bitcoin "theirs". What patents do they have on lightning network? Also how would they make money on the transactions on the lightning network?
Reddit Bitcoin Mod: If 90% Don’t Like Our Policies, They Should Leave
Bitcoin has been a fairly strange phenomenon ever since it was invented. Mostly in the beginning it attracted quite a peculiar audience, which is probably thanks to its private nature. You know why? Because the name is just a pseudonym and Satoshi Nakamoto was never actually identified.

The BitcoinTalk forum, pretty much the largest crypto currency discussion website, is currently experiencing some downtime. It seems that the problem this time is caused by hardware failure, unlike the last time back in November last year when the forum was apparently DDoS attacked. Checking the official twitter account for updates reveals information that apparently the problem was caused by hard drive failure and there could be some extended downtime before things are back online. Also there is information that some of the posts made in the last few hours before the website went down might be lost.
