Imported from USA. Satechi USB 2. The hub is uniquely designed so that the two switches can control first six or second six usb ports with the blue Led indicators. Equipped with a power supply, the Satechi USB 2. It does not require any software or complicated installation process. With the slim, strip-shape design, it saves your precious desktop space.

USB 2. Two switches control first or second set of 6 USB ports and included power supply ensures a stable connection for your USB devices. Please Note For a stable connection, the devices connected to the 12 Port hub must not exceed a combined current of 5 volt 2A.

External hard-drives should be connected to an external power source. This hub is not recommended for ASIC bitcoin miners. Cant handle more than 5 devicesm many ports dont recognize the device Read more I needed a USB hub with a longer cable to reach my computer.

To use this hub you pretty much have to plug it into the computer's port in my case on the back which defeats the accessability purpose. Buying a USB extension cable is pointless. Buyer beware as the description doesn't tell you the cable is only a few inches long.

Bought for a flight simulator. Not impressed. For routing reasons I wanted to have 3 Logitech panels route through here and then connect this directly to the computer. Even though this is a powered USB hub, I would get intermittent signal loss and thought one of the panels was busted due to low contrast. Turns out it was just underpowered. Yes it's technically a powered USB hub, but it cannot deliver the amperage for even a model sim build.

Works and does what it claims. That is all one can ask of such a product. Kinda works, until it doesn't anymore. The Satechi port hub looked like exactly what I've been wanting I've had my unit for about 2 years.

Over that time, I noticed myself plugging stuff into my computer rather than the hub. The hub just never seemed to work really well.

There were always minor little problems that I could never root-cause or just didn't take the time to fully root cause , but that mysteriously went away when using my computer's USB ports. Eventually the hub became nothing more than a charging device. At least it did that reasonably well, if slowly. But a few weeks back that stopped working as well. The power light on the wall charger started blinking, and making a high pitched squeal.

The blue lights on the hub would blink correspondingly. This is a prime example of getting what you pay for. But ultimately it's clear that Satechi cut corners all over on this thing. From the cheap power supply to the questionable USB functionality, to the really weak charging abilities.

This device is just disposable electronics. Use it for as long as it happens to last, then throw it out. If you are like me, you have a ton of USB devices such as jump drives, external hard drives, phones, tablets, etc and dealing with all of those USB devices can get to be a pain.

Unless you don't mind all of your stuff plugged into the front of your computer, you have to get on your hands and knees and fight the dust bunnies to reach the back of your CPU. Heaven forbid when you get back there you have all of your USB ports filled. I was previously using an El Cheapo hub that I bought off an end cap at the discount electronic store but after a few months it went to its final resting place somewhere in the cloud. I guess it ran out of electrons. Anyway, I digress Bottom line is that if you need a bunch of USB ports, this is a good choice.

It is supposed to run 12 devices but the power supply will only drive about 10 at full output of madc each if you believe the rating on the power supply. This is a common complaint I see on multiple device USB hubs. I have two 2-Terabyte external hard drives hooked to the unit and I can copy files back and forth between the 2 external drives as well as my internal PC drives with no problems.

Plus the assorted phones, MP3 players, and jump drives. It has a couple of nice features that make it stand out from the pack. If you've ever tried this while under your desk in the dark, you will appreciate that feature. Don't know if that does anything except turn the lights off on 6 ports but maybe it does. I don't think there is a manual but pretty easy to hook up, just plug in the power supply and plug the USB cable into one end and the other into a "spare" USB plug on your computer.

There is also a plug on one end to daisy chain another USB hub if you need more plugs. There is not a lot you can say about it except it seems to work well and the price is in line with others in its class.

If I have to buy another one, I'll probably just buy one just like this one. So if your cable doesn't seem to fit, flip the unit over and plug into the other USB connector. Based upon the power supply's rating I would not plug in more than 10 devices unless you are sure they don't require the full ma per the USB spec. So don't try to charge 12 cell phones with this device LOL. Beware use causes flakey communication with devices. This arrived yesterday. Prior to the Statechi, I had no problems printing.

Immediately, after use, not printing to the Canon would work. Printing returned to normal. Turned the power back on the Satechi and the printer no longer worked.

Without going into a lot of troubleshooting, it would appear that the Satechi is causing a power dip on the USB on the motherboard, or the USB out of the Satechi is so flakey that the USB bus is getting too many conflicts or something similar.

I cannot recommend it with the current experience. At the price, it is not worth too much troubleshooting as my time is worth at least minimum wage and this could add up.

The look and concept of turning half on at a time with 1 always on is nice, but execution seems flawed. Given that the 4 harddrives are externally powered and worked with the unpowered hub prior, this is disappointing.

I'm transferring files from my camera to my computer all the time. Without this slot, it's incredibly difficult to get my work done. There's also an embedded USB-C slot that lets you charge your computer or other devices, but not transfer data. And since there's nothing other than the lone port to keep it connected, if you attach a large enough device, like an external hard drive and then move the laptop around too much, it can detach quite easily. Also if you happen to lift the laptop up with the hub plugged in, as well as a few devices plugged into the hub, you risk bending the hub in a way that may make it snap off from the port.
