Just to be very clear, absolutely no private keys - that's not the purpose and I'm not dumb enough to have private keys on a linode. The purpose would be a server three at different centers if it works that I trust from which my bitcoin e-commerce web applications could query the status of pending payments, similar to what can already be done with blockchain.

This is me. When I first suggested giving a talk here on libbitcoin, I will also talk about what it is going on underneath. It's an implementation of bitcoin as well. Most of the talks I give are around cryptoeconomics. Up until recently, libbitcoin hasn't been mature enough to go and promote.

Libbitcoin is a multipurpose bitcoin library targeted towards high end use. An ideal backend to build fast implementations on top: mobile apps, desktop clients and server API's. The library places a heavy focus around asychronicity, speed and availability. It's enables a big scope for scalability as each component has its own thread pool. By increasing the number of threads for that component the library is able to scale outwards across CPU cores. This are vital as the demands of the bitcoin network grow.

Status of regtest support. I am trying to use libbitcoin and libbitcoin-server in a regtest network, and am having trouble connecting libbitcoin-server to an established regtest network of bitcoind instances versions 0. Given, regtest support is not yet exposed to the user in libbitcoin see and , option 1 does not appear to be available right now, and I have been attempting option 2 unsuccessfully for a few days. Any help for a workaround until full regtest support is released be it a config, or a code hack will greatly be appreciated.

A: No. Libbitcoin is the oldest implementation of Bitcoin that is not a fork of the Satoshi code. The implementation is dramatically different and contains no Satoshi source. A: BS is a Bitcoin full node and query server, built on libbitcoin-node and libbitcoin-protocol. It is conceptually similar to Electrum Server except that its query interface is more generalized and it incorporates its own full node in contrast to Electrum's use of bitcoind. By default BS indexes every payment address and stealth payment in the entire blockchain.
