Uniswap Labs, the company behind the top decentralized exchange on Ethereum, is planning to launch a mobile crypto wallet for iPhone users. However, Apple has not yet approved the launch, causing a delay. Uniswap Labs claims to have responded to Apple's concerns and reiterated that it is 100% compliant with their specifications. The delay adds to Apple's perception as a hardline gatekeeper in regulating the crypto world's access to iOS. As a DEX, it is unclear if Uniswap could ever meet Apple's "approved exchange" criteria. This could mean trouble for its non-custodial crypto wallet app because it plans to have a swap feature that routes trades through Uniswap's unregulated decentralized exchange. Despite the delay, Uniswap Labs plans to release its app to 10,000 users via the TestFlight beta platform to show Apple its service is "safe."
