Bridging Web2 and Web3 - Blockchain Central Davos 2023

Session: 'Bridging Web2 and Web3'

In Web1, users were introduced to easily accessible information that they could read and view online. In Web2, newly developed applications enabled users to create, upload, and share content, while making payments and opening the doors to e-commerce. As users began to transact value online in Web2, there became a need for more secure infrastructure and the ability to prove ownership of assets and data. This, among many supporting factors, contributed to the development of Web3, which promises proof-of-ownership, enhanced security, and privacy. Ranging from collectibles and interactions within a metaverse, to digital identities and decentralized finance (DeFi), the potential benefits of Web3 are enormous, but, like all new industries and technologies, there are a multitude of challenges from governance to regulation and beyond. In this panel, we will explore how organizations can prepare, learn, and grow as they see the transition to Web3 approaching and must make critical decisions on how they bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3.
