Big Breaking news from Budget 2022. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has brought crypto under a taxation framework. Any come from transfer or sale of any digital asset will be taxed at 30%. There will be no expenditure deduction except cost of acquisition. Loss from digital assets cannot be set off in tax returns. Crypto will be taxable in the hands of the recipient if given as a gift. This is a great first step towards positive crypto regulations!
