Blockchain technology is a mysterious topic for many. Is it a network? A database? A cryptography algorithm? Is it the same as cryptocurrency? In this episode of "ACM-W Celebrating Technology Leaders," we aim to demystify blockchain technology with the help of leading women technologists in the field. Join our panel, with host Bushra Anjum, as we talk about the core concepts, and learn how to differentiate blockchain hype from reality. We will also explore what problems are good candidates to be solved with this emerging technology.

Lisa is CEO and Founder of HalfBlast Studios, an innovation lab with a focus on Blockchain, Mobile, IoT and AI technologies. Her contagious energy and passion for blockchain technology, innovation, and strategy is easily recognized. She has been asked to speak and present on innovative technologies at various conferences for the past decade. Lisa and her team have had many successes with Fortune 500, mid-market enterprises, and startups to transform their business with innovative technology. She previously held positions as Chief Strategy Officer of a global consulting company, CEO & Founder of a US-based software consulting agency, and manager with Accenture. She has been recognized as Woman of the Year in the Technology Industry in Colorado. Tatiana Zander is a Director Technology Innovation, responsible for innovation and thought leadership across Ericsson North America. She drives and streamlines innovation and lab strategy across all operator and enterprise customers, while always looking for the next disruption. Tatiana began her career as a software developer and has worked with all Ericsson business areas since. Originally from Germany, she has had assignments in four continents. Tatiana earned a BSC in Scientific Programming from University of Applied Sciences Aachen, MSC in Operations Research and an Executive MBA from Maastricht University. She currently serves on the Advisory Council of California State University East Bay. Zeenat Anjum is an entrepreneur, engineer, and Techwomen Fellow 2019. She represented Pakistan in the Silicon Valley as a young researcher at Berkeley Lab. She has also been featured among the Top 20 influential women on LinkedIn from Pakistan. Zeenat has always been an advocate of women's empowerment through her role. She has supported entrepreneurship, especially by women so that they become economically independent. Being a woman in STEM, she understands the importance of proper mentorship for business ideas to bloom and helps women get more informed about technology for better consumer reach. Her recent venture Digiwrite provides professional mentorship and training, community support, and a marketplace for freelancers and entrepreneurs.
