Published
In this investing in Cryptocurrency Beginners guide, you will learn everything you need to know to get started investing in crypto, cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin.

How to invest in cryptocurrency is a very common question, and one that needs a detailed response. Investing in crypto is on the surface complex, but this beginners guide will help you get started investing in crypto. Investing in crypto is similar to investing in general, with the exception of WHERE you choose to invest... as in on a regulated exchange or on a decentralized exchange. The choice is yours.

For a beginner to crypto and cryptocurrency, investing in crypto can feel confusing, but by using a regulated marketplace in your country, you do reduce some of the risks associated with this speculative investing market. Please be very aware of the risks associated with investing in crypto and cryptocurrency in general. Always do your own research.

Cryptocurrency is like regular currencies except that they are digital and generally operate on a blockchain, which is a network of computers that process crypto transactions. This is unique to the federally issued currency of a central bank, because with cryptocurrencies, the network determines how much crypto is issued, and no one else.

Cryptocurrencies come in a wide variety of shapes and forms, but none are more popular than the likes of Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are the most popular cryptocurrencies. There are countless other cryptocurrencies as well, including cryptos that are known as Tokens.

Cryptocurrencies belong to networks that process crypto transactions, like Bitcoin and its network. If you MINE Bitcoin, you are maintaining the bitcoin network and rewarded with cryptocurrency as a reward if you successfully complete a block on the blockchain. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are very difficult to develop from the ground up, so many of the emerging cryptos you see and hear about are actually tokens based off of the Ethereum network. Tokens are very easy to produce, and so be very wary of investing in any type of crypto token.
