New cryptocurrency mining software disables hash rate limits set by Nvidia
In August, NBMiner almost disabled Nvidia’s hashrate limits. Now a new software called T-Rex enables Ethereum miners to bypass hashrate limits completely if they only mine several other cryptocurrencies at the same time (via Tom’s hardware).

“With this option, you can use the full potential of your LHR card as long as your GPU has enough VRAM to store two DAGs / datasets by using two cryptocurrencies at the same time – ETH (~ 30%) and a few others (~ 70% ) – mine, ”according to the project’s github page.

There are several hash rates that miners can expect from mining that combines various cryptocurrencies with specific GPUs. An RTX 3080 Ti that runs on a T-Rex miner can, for example, achieve a hashrate of 35.4 MH / s when mining Ethereum, together with Ergo with 183.3 MH / s – and thus exceeds all the limits Nvidia has effectively set.

The news of new hashrate disabling software comes at a time when many are looking to upgrade their GPUs after a long battle with silicon shortages and high inventory levels.
