The 1st non-security #Crypto? Enter #Polkadot: a #metaprotocol that is home to some serious Layer-1s

Published
There are 3 groups of #cryptocurrencies when it comes to regulations according to the United States Securities & Exchange Commission's (#SEC) so-called guidelines. Which one does your favourite #cryptocurrency fall under and is that the end of it?

Group A: The first group is for those crypto projects that, from day one, ensure fair token distribution with no single players holding or controlling a lion’s share of the project’s tokens, achieve full decentralisation, protection of token holders through fit-for-purpose business processes
Group B: Achieving criteria set out in ‘A’ above isn’t easy, so morphing could be a process most crypto projects willing and set out for compliance could follow for the second group, and
Group C: The 3rd group consists of some crypto projects that will not survive and once regulations come in, they could be penalised out of existence or voluntarily shut down to avoid worse sanctions.

In this video we walk you through how #Polkadot's #DOT has navigated its path to transition from being a ‘Security’ to a non-security (#software) under the SEC’s own guidance.
